At least 10 people were injured following a gas explosion in the town of Ho in the Volta region of Ghana.
The gas explosion which has left these victims with severe injuries occurred at the Mighty Gas Filling station in the Ho municipality in the Volta Region.Witnesses report hearing a loud bang followed by an intense blaze that burned for several minutes even as the fire service fought bring it under control.
According to eyewitnesses the injured persons have been rushed to the Ho Teaching Hospital and are currently receiving treatment. The injured persons include station attendants and some drivers who were at the gas station to fill their cylinders.
Eyewitnesses applauded the personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service for their Swift response to help in bringing the situation under control.
It is not yet known what caused the explosion as investigations are yet to commence.
