In case his name is new to you, Waakye featured in popular movies such as 'Diabolo’, 'Babina', 'Obra', and ‘Chorkor Trotro’ in the early 2000s. Most people know him in the "Chorkor Trotro" TV series. Chokor Trotro was a Ghanaian comedy series which is aired on TV3.
Veteran actor Waakye has join the train of celebrities campaigning for the NPP, he was seen with movie producer Socrate Safo in streets to campaign for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the veteran actor has allegedly been bedridden by a mild stroke since 2013, which explains his disappearance from our TV screens.Waakye who has been in and out of the hospital, spotted in a photo available wearing NPP T-shirt with Socrates Safo uring the public to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo.
Many people on social media after seeing the photo, wondered why Waakye who is sick would risk his life to hit the street to campaign for the NPP who might not even mind him again after the elections.
It would be remembered that recently when he appealed to the public for help to enable him to pay for his hospital bills.
Social commentator Kwame A Plus revealed that he would love to help him pay the bills but the problem is that he(Waakye) is a strong NPP supporter and as such he should contact them for help.
Waakye after some hours responded to A Plus saying the NPP is already helping him pay his bills.
